Sometimes the need to take good care of yourself can seem a little selfish or even unnecessary in a busy schedule, but our body, mind and soul require these breaks often to feel restored and recharged. We all know we can’t be running at 100% all of the time, and that’s why a good self-care Sunday routine in the schedule can be the perfect distraction.

Our ideal self-care Sunday routine begins by awaking naturally in the morning, no long lie-ins until midday! We open the curtains and window to take a few deep breaths of the fresh morning air. When doing this try focusing on breathing through the belly, rather than the short, sharp breaths we’re used to. We’ll brew ourselves a herbal tea, perhaps something like ginger and lemongrass or a green tea blend to help energise and begin our day. We’d opt for the brain fog session to add clarity to our morning!

Next it’s breakfast time! An essential fuel for any self-care routine, we love granola or porridge with fresh fruit and honey, paired with a delicious smoothie or juice. Our next self-care Sunday idea is a walk in nature, stepping outside in the hopefully lovely weather, no headphones playing music, and simply enjoying a meander through your local area. For any self-care day it’s always a great idea to get out of the house and explore more in your community around you. Why not take your walk that one step further by adding some joy through a brightly coloured scarf, a fun pair of socks etc. something that brings a smile to you and others around you! Why not meet up with a friend and combine self-care Sunday routines together?
