Sustainability is at the heart of our company
Everyone at TEMPLESPA is totally committed to our continuous environmental improvement plans. We love our planet, our plants, landscapes, our wildlife and our people and we fully recognise the need to keep all protected and well treated.
Here are just a few of the things we’re doing
We work with packaging suppliers who share our commitment to lessening our environmental impact by introducing recyclable packaging and using recycled materials where possible. Where a fully recyclable option exists and the user experience meets our standard, it will always be our first choice.
We strongly believe we all are responsible for making it easy for everyone to recycle as much as possible. This is why ‘How To Recycle’ guidelines can be found on every product page and if something isn’t recyclable yet, we make it clear that we’re busy working on it! Our aim is to be 100% recyclable - at home, without the need to engage in a takeback scheme.
We regularly assess our packaging footprint. The design of our products is carefully considered to avoid the use of unnecessary packaging whilst never compromising on functionality.
92% of all our components are recyclable in UK homes.
75% of our packaging includes at least 30% recycled content PCR or sustainably sourced materials.
100% of our tubes are recyclable.
100% of our paper and card are certified sustainable paper.

Over the years, we’ve removed over 10 tonnes per year of non-recyclable plastic from our ecosystem by redesigning the jars of some of our best-sellers, removing spatulas from our entire range and discontinuing single-use sachets.

ETHICAL INGREDIENT SOURCING
For some time now, the production of palm oil has been the subject of negative social and environmental concerns, including deforestation. We at TEMPLESPA have been working with our suppliers and partners to combat these negative impacts and to ensure all products containing palm contain a sustainable source.
We have done this by adopting the RSPO sourcing principles of sustainable palm oil.
Where we can, we will select ingredients which have a positive sourcing story, in other words, a positive impact on the planet. It may be a positive environmental impact, such as upcycling, reducing carbon footprint, and replanting the used land to be better for the future. Or, it may be a positive social impact, such as supporting local farmers, empowering women or education.
VEGAN & VEGETARIAN
FRIENDLY
We want as many people as possible to be able to enjoy our products. As well as always being cruelty-free, all TEMPLESPA products are suitable for vegetarians.
The choice of a vegan diet and lifestyle will not stop you from enjoying our products. We are pleased to say that 96% of our products are suitable for vegans already, with the rest coming later this year.
REDUCING
PLASTIC WASTE
We have completely removed the use of plastic airbags in our orders, replacing these with 100% recycled and recyclable paper rosettes, saving over 0.7 tonnes of plastic a year.
REDUCING OUR IMPACT
Sustainability is not just about our products, it’s also about our people, our premises and our operations.
At our head office and our warehouse, we buy our energy from suppliers that are heavily investing in renewable energy, working towards a greener future.
We have initiatives in place to reduce CO2 emissions related to employee commuting, vehicle fleet and business travel..
We also closely monitor the carbon footprint of our operations and have clear reduction targets.
